As a momma myself, I am experiencing the ongoing sweet moments, challenges, joys, and humbling experiences of motherhood. I am learning everyday and do my best to practice the principles of healthy stress management, good nutrition, real connections, and living whole-heartedly. I have discovered that imperfections in this life are beautiful and can be the birthplace of growth and transformation. My joy is supporting other women and families and I am honored to grow with you in your life journey.
LAURA MISSIHA, LMT
PeriNATAL + pediatric MASSAGE SPECIALIST
Laura brings over 25 years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist to the Well Family team. She has worked as a therapist in a variety of clinical settings including a Children's ICU, a women's health physical therapy clinic, as well as in the hospital with women on antepartum bed rest. Laura enjoys working with adults and children of all ages and is skilled in supporting complex medical issues with high quality massage therapy. As a mother of a teen daughter, she understands the demands of motherhood and is committed to practicing what she preaches with receiving regular bodywork and eating a clean diet. Laura is passionate about supporting and empowering her clients with ways to care for themselves to encourage healthy early bonding with their children through touch and connection.
I have discovered that taking care of myself is one of the best things I can do as a mom. For me, that looks like eating a clean diet, taking aromatherapy baths, and receiving regular bodywork. I practice what I preach and truly believe this is what has allowed me to have such a long and fulfilling career as a massage therapist. I also believe in the importance of modeling self-care for my daughter because as women we tend to put ourselves last. It lights me up when I can work with mothers and families and visibly see the impact of nurturing touch with them.
Jala Verner, RN, NC-BC
Jala has a passion for serving women and children and believes in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where true growth and change can happen. She also assisted families in the process of acquiring out of state care or private duty nursing care for special needs children. Most recently she has had the privilege of raising and homeschooling her two sons, finding joy in helping them to learn and grow. She has a passion for teaching emotional intelligence and music to children, and has the privilege to teach a class including both at a preschool in Houston. She became a Transformative Nurse Coach through the Nurse Coach Collective in 2018 and is very excited to be taking a new direction in her nursing career with Well Family.
As a health care professional and a mother, I relate to others who might feel overwhelmed by all the information out there on self care, health & wellness, safe products, safe food and on and on. I lovingly stand with others who are navigating the same things and help guide them through taking the actions needed to make changes towards betterment in their life.
